Bart has worked in the emergency services industry for more than 20 year having held positions such as firefighter, paramedic, emergency coordinator, and consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Tennessee. Currently, he works for Cooper Notification, a division of Cooper Industries. Prior to joining Cooper, Bart worked for the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College and a Master’s from Santa Clara University. His education also includes additional courses from FEMA and the Dept. of Homeland Security. Bart has volunteered for the Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross for more than 25 years.

Bart Spencer serves as the Board’s President, representing the District on the ALS/EMS JPA Board of Directors and serves on the Board’s Strategic Planning Committee.

He has served on the Board since 1999.
