Bart has worked for more than eighteen years in the emergency service industry. His background includes the fire and EMS service, safety and emergency management and consulting, search and rescue, emergency and safety instruction, and directing first responder programs. His is presently employed in the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.
Starting his safety career while in college, Bart worked as a first aider and lifeguard. After he received his Bachelor's degree from Rhodes College, Bart furthered his education in fire science and emergency medicine (paramedic). He worked as a firefighter/paramedic in Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee. After moving to California, Bart continued to work in Santa Clara County.
He earned his Master's degree from Santa Clara University and has continued his emergency education by taking several management and planning courses from OES and FEMA.
Bart also serves on the Executive Board of the area Boy Scout council and continues to teach safety courses for the American Red Cross. Originally from Virginia, Bart now lives in Menlo Park. |
