PRESS RELEASE – JULY 19, 2018

Menlo Park Fire Protection District –      After re-opening its new Fire Station 6 in downtown Menlo Park a month ago, the final phase of construction began this week with the demolition of a house purchased behind the Station 10 years ago.

Firefighters moved back into the new, modern, efficient, resilient, safer and completely rebuilt Fire Station a month ago today, but the project isn’t finished yet….!

Starting with the demolition of a home purchased behind the Station a decade ago this week, the expansion project will include a rear driveway for access to the drive through station, parking area, fencing, an electric security gate, fueling area, another structure to hold older apparatus and equipment and most notably, the movement of one of the oldest original Fire Houses on the West Coast that was built in 1899 to hold a horse drawn Hose Wagon.
